Could you please try the following patch: https://paste.kde.org/psply6pit
The 4.1 config contained CONFIG_MTD_UIMAGE_SPLIT=y which is the "old
uimage splitter".
However, this splitter is not available anymore in linux 4.4 and thus it
was removed when the config was refreshed in r48307.
