It needs to stay closed as there's no viable way to implement it.
There is no source code available, the tech specs are undisclosed (AFAIK)
and there's none willing to spend months and years in such a project.
If anyone has money to hire programmers or the power to force Atheros to
release the code, then I beg her/him to go on.
Otherwise it's all a waste of bytes and time.

comments).
