Current Openwrt trunk has dropbear 2015.71 and the supported CC15.05 has
dropbear 2015.67. Your v0.65.1 sounds ancient. Update to current Openwrt
releases and re-check your problem.
Your problem sounds a bit like the MIPS16 incompatibility
https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/15209 that was fixed two years ago (for BB
and trunk (current CC and DD trunk)).
