 Nevermind! This turns out to be a bug in wpa_supplicant on my client PC.
 The debian version right now is 2.3 and I just compiled from source
 pre-2.6 and it works fine.

 Suspected cause is wpa_supplicant git commit
 e6dd8196e5daf39e4204ef8ecd26dd50fdca6040, but I'm not certain. There's a
 couple of bridge related commits between 2.3 and now.

 FYI I tested OpenWRT to OpenWRT bridging during my testing and it works
 great, but Atheros-based radios on both sides.

 Please close.
