#22144: Is OpenWrt home page dead? It seems to be...

As of 31 Mar 2016, the OpenWrt home page has gone (mostly) blank. It
appears to have been abandoned.
The good news is that it doesn't contain any outdated information. But it
really could use a small amount of introductory text. I volunteer to help
to write it.
I will note that the forums are beginning to be filled with people
despairing of a good outcome here. Most recently, I saw

*Somebody* made the change - would it be possible to correspond with a
person who has a vision for that page, and/or rights to update the home
page? Thanks.

PS Please don't post anonymous snarky comments to this ticket. They are
