Component: other | Version: Chaos Calmer 15.05
 Keywords: Asus RT-14U, flashing |
-----------------------------------+--------------------------------
I tried to use the guide:
 https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/asus/rt-n14u#flashing

 Asus RT-N14U firmware: 376
 tftp method failed:
 tftp 192.168.1.1
 tftp> bin
 tftp> trace
 Packet tracing on.
 tftp> put openwrt-15.05.1-ramips-mt7620-rt-n14u-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
 sent WRQ <file=openwrt-15.05.1-ramips-mt7620-rt-n14u-squashfs-
 sysupgrade.bin, mode=octet>

 sysupgrade.bin, mode=octet>

Asus web GUI doesn't accept this file, because it ends with bin
The same situation is with OpenWRT version 14.07

Asus RT-N14U firmware: 372 (I downgraded the firmware).
 tftp method failed again:
 tftp 192.168.1.1
 tftp> binary
 tftp> trace
 Packet tracing on.
 tftp> put openwrt-15.05.1-ramips-mt7620-rt-n14u-squashfs-sysupgrade.trx
 sent WRQ <file=openwrt-15.05.1-ramips-mt7620-rt-n14u-squashfs-

 Transfer timed out.

Web GUI hungs on renamed OpenWRT firmware (bin -> trx).
For some reason it discards flashing. Main page of GUI is still working.

Writing an alternative firmware is working:
 https://bitbucket.org/padavan/rt-n56u/downloads/RT-
 N14U_3.4.3.9-099_base.trx
The simplest method is to download it and put it into GUI.
