You can try using https://github.com/Python1320/rtrebooter
It still requires finishing up and does not seem to work all the time but
I do not have more time to continue it. I should also write some guide on
how to build it for yourself, should just be a copypaste to right place.
At least for me turning WiFi off and on does not fix it all the time, but
reloading the modules seems to improve the probability of a working WiFi
afterwards which my script tries to also do.
