(time for some dumb questions.)
i've had an ASUS WL-500GP for a while now, but given that it had a
broadcom wireless 4318 mini-PCI card, i didn't bother doing anything
about wireless, as i didn't really need it here. however, a friend
just gave me an atheros mini-PCI card, so i popped it in and wired it
up, and simply rebooted the router.
obviously, i now need to rebuild a firmware image for the new
wireless card to finally get wireless but, before i even do that, is
there a command i can run that will verify the existence of the
atheros card? some sort of HW inventory? dmesg doesn't tell me
anything. i can't see anything immediately under /proc that gives it
away.
even without that actual card support, is there no command that will
just *see* the atheros card? i'm drawing a blank here.
