I have the 520gu, which has somewhat similar hardware, and I can run
either 2.4 with (proprietary) wireless and USB (although many sites
warn against using 2.0, so I haven't tried it) or 2.6 without USB or
wireless, and even that only with manually modifying the sources, as
per sbrown's patch.  If anyone gets USB working with 2.6, I'd like to
see your config, and anything special that you had to do.
