Hi,

I want to by a cheap (may be by ebay) wifi router with usb high speed that is
supported by openwrt.
I want good hardware (robust, good wifi signal quality, no usb/wifi conflict),
with a low power consumption if possible.
I want ready to do some software development (after all I do embedded stuff
everyday at my job).

After some research the candidate are :
- WGT634U :
  * pro : 8 MB flash
          well supported (+ leak usermanual of soc)
          5 gpio available to do some hard mod
          mini-pci board
  * con : some user report instability with it and problem with the power
circuit
          bad wifi signal quality
          crypto block doesn't seem to work
- WL-500GD
  * pro :
          well supported (+ leak usermanual of soc)
          hardware shematic (from ce certification)
          3 gpio avaible (+ other unsued)
          2 + (2 internal) usb port
          flash possible via tftp without serial cable
  * con : only 4 MB flash
          via usb chipset (via hasn't good reputation for that)
          is the wifi chip well supported in master mode on 2.6

- WL-500GP
  * pro : 8 MB flash
          v2 version got everything integrated in one chip (less power
consumption ???)
          more cpu clock
  * con : no so cheap
          gpio avaiable ?
- DIR-320
- FON2202
  * pro : 8 MB flash
  * con : slow flash (spi)
          one lan port
- WRTSL54GS
  * con : impossible to find

What router do you recommend ?

Thanks

Matthieu
