Hi all,
I have an update on my original request. Following some advice I
received on the irc channels I managed to create a serial port
connection to my router and have the following output from a reboot:
http://openwrt.pastebay.org/pastebay.php?dl=12588
I have also set up a development environment in which to compile a
firmware image but am having trouble knowing what to set the parameters
to. Initial problem is that when I set the target system to AR7 (my
routers hardware) and try to compile without changing anything else it
fails saying that BFD is not available for my target system. Anyone
know what to do about this?

Hi all,
I just wanted to check that my understanding is correct before I
attempt to install OpenWRT on my router. I posted on the forums but
haven't had any responses but my posting may have been too complex for
a response. The link to the original posting is here:

The original text:
I am new to OpenWRT and I wanted to ask a
couple
of
questions before I go and brick my router. I have the following
hardware and have found some of the specs to go along with it:
Dlink DVA-G3340S
Texas Instruments AR7 @ 150MHz
Bootloader = ADAM2
ADSL2+ compliant modem with RJ45 port
4 port 10/100 lan switch
USB port
Wireless G
2 x VOIP RJ45 phone ports
1 x PSTN RJ45 phone port
The hardware page (http://oldwiki.openwrt.org/Hardware(2f)DLink.html)
lists status as WIP for this particular model (AR7) but I'm not sure if
the info there is up to date or not. So if anyone can help with the
following questions that would be much appreciated:
If anyone knows whether OpenWRT will run on this system? But I'd
imagine that not many (if any) have this particular hardware.
So
based on the hardware specs, is there a precompiled hardware image that
should work with my system or will I need to compile one myself?
If there is one available, which one do I pick? There are a bunch of
files in this directory (http://downloads.openwrt.org/kamikaze/8.09/ar7/)
and I'm not sure if any of them would work with my hardware.
Lastly
I'd like to know if I can use the Manufacturer's Firmware upgrade
utility to upgrade my hardware or if I need to do something different?
I do have a friend who is a electronics engineer who has agreed to help
me if I get into trouble or where things exceed my abilities but I said
I would seek the collective knowledge of the community before we go
ahead with anything.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
If anyone could give me some feedback that would be much appreciated.
