So, with the recent 10.03 release I've come to upgrade RC-versions to
final and stuck some issues that I'm trying to resolve.

a) opkg fails due to lack of free space on /, however even then / is
writable and an overlay, so that would seem to be a problem in
configuration somehow?

b) Default firewall doesn't forward packets anymore, simply lacking the
MASQUERADE rules, and causing errors on restart.

This leads me to wonder how much else is currently broken (most probably
as a result of the upgrade rather than a release issue) so I'm checking,
what's the recommended way to partially remove all configuration ( save
the setting for names, mac-addresses, DHCP-leases and ip-ranges, blow
all other settings)

Also, on x86 hardware, what is the current recommended upgrade method?
build a new squashfs-image and overwrite the disk seems a bit harsh, but
would hopefully arrive at a clean slate at least.
