maybe you're using a squashfs filesystem? (i'm sure at 100% that this is the
problem...)

I think the your new files go to the ram partition and not the rom. But i
don't know what is the root of the problem. Maybe you should build a custom
firmware image with the files preloaded and upload that to your router.
