you can always hook up a volt-amp meter in line, and while you can't
do a factory reset remotely, you can ALWAYS reboot a POE device by--
you guessed it, cutting the power and restoring it! either use a
momentary contact switch to cut the power, or do what many pros in the
poe embedded devices world do: Pull the Plug! that'd be the Ethernet
cable.
I assume that you suggest to use the led on/off function to power up/down
the device, right? This is partially useful, however this assumes that
the
device didn't crashed. The problem is that I have some device spread
around
several floors and it is annoying to reboot them one by one when this is
required. That's why I was looking for some POE device with a remote
switch
and then I've thought that it could be useful to have some kind of power
consumption reading.
