I have installed openwrt on my netgear DG834GT via tftp and serial port.
When linux boot on my router,some error message like this was outputed on the
console:
jffs2_scan_eraseblock(): Magic bitmask 0x1985 not found at 0x002f0004: 0x8ebc
instead
Perhaps the file system was created with the wrong erase size?
Kernel panic - not syncing: No init found.  Try passing init= option to kernel.

That sounds like, the filesystem hasn't been flashed
  on there properly.

Try different versions of openwrt, be careful to select the right
  file, etc.
Try different OS with different tftp server...

Narrow it down..   Good luck!
