This may be really basic, but googling for a good while here, I'm not finding how to determine what version of openwrt is running on a hardware device.
I found one hit that says to look at /etc/banner but in this case there is no version or release information contained in /etc/banner. Its a recipe for some kind of highball or such. Doesn't even indicate the name of the drink the recipe makes.... Is there some command that will reveal what is running. I mean beyond uname -a. I see no files in /etc that look like they might contain version information.
