I've installed a few little cigarette-box-sized print servers, and I've found them to be a lot of trouble. Some are easy to get to work, but Wndows doesn't always play well with them. If I understand you right, you want to connect a non-networked printer to a network. I think the better way to do this is to buy a networked printer. The networking feature is not expensive any more. If you value your time, the expense might be very small, and it would save you in the long run.
With that said, the HP print servers are good because Windows has been told to trust them, especially when the print server is paired with an HP printer. Apple Airport Express routers might do the job well, too. Tom
