Hi,
I have got the possibility to try out ipv6 from my provider and I have
some problems with it.
I do have a tunneled based setup up to now, but this native ipv6 setup
is new to me. I am on a DSL line, so using PPPoE. All addresses are
assigned dynamically.
I've enabled IPv6 on the wan interface and I can get an IPv6 address on
that interface, so that is OK.
The debug messages mention ip6cp requesting and receiving a /64 subnet
from the network.
But, in addition to the address on the PPPoE link itself, I should also
be able to use a /56 subnet for my LAN.
I've been looking on the net for more information about that; but most
of what I found deals with fixed IP-addresses or using DHCPv6; not about
using PPPoE.
I guess the only thing I need is a way to query the network what /56
subnet I can use; and I can get started from that. (configure it on the
LAN interface and configure radvd).
So ... I'm a bit stuck here.
So, now my question: the device is a Linksys NSLU2, still running
KAMIKAZE (8.09.1, r16278).
Would upgrading the device to a newer version help here? Is there any
help in this version that does not exist in 8.09?
I'm quite happy with the device as I have it now; so before I start
doing all kind of other stuff and break or brick it, I would like to
know if it worth the risk.
Chééééééééério!
Kr. Bonne.
