It this helps, here is the boot command line I'm using without problem for
running Attitude Adjustments on NSM5's:

[    0.000000] Kernel command line:  board=UBNT-NM console=ttyS0,115200
mtdparts=spi0.0:256k(u-boot)ro,64k(u-boot-env)ro,1024k(kernel),6528k(rootfs),256k(cfg)ro,64k(EEPROM)ro,7552k@0x50000(firmware)
rootfstype=squashfs,jffs2 noinitrd

Is the "EEPROM)rod" bit a typo?  E.g. "rod" instead of "ro".
