Operating simultaneously on different channels (and likewise on different
bands) requires multiple radios.

Beside dual-band units, i.e. having 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz radios, certain
access points like a TP-Link TL-WDR4310 also come with a USB port.  People
have plugged wifi adapters into those ports for the additional radio.
