# mount
will show you what is mounted.

# unmount
will unmount the desired partition.

Looks like you need to unmount jffs2
It might show you something like:

/dev/mtdblock3 on /overlay type jffs2 (rw,noatime)

If that is the case; then

# unmount /dev/mtdblock3
# firstboot
# reboot

Does it solve the problem ?
