I'd tend to agree, unless your phone's wifi connection does frequent
(and spurious) "disconnect+reconnect", or unless your router's upstream
connection (e.g. PPP) often goes down.

Sounds credible but I never heard of it and can't find any such story in
web searches. Would you happen to have some URLs pointing to
discussions/evidence of this?
