anyone have any further advice on how to flash my factory d-link
dir-810l yet? i did an openwrt build from scratch and ended up with a
pile of images, including one ostensibly for the dir-810l:

$ ls -F

but, as you can see, there are no "factory" type images that i've seen
built for other arches, such as my builds for my tp-link ac1750.

CLARIFY: i'm assuming that "factory" type images are such that
they're the formats to use when flashing over top of original
firmware, yes? so the fact that i get no factory type images are why i
can't use one of the "sysupgrade" images to reflash my router.

i've seen web pages where people have *clearly* reflashed their
dir-810l, but i've never seen an explanation of how. i'm also reading
this openwrt wiki page:

  http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/d-link/dir-810l

and i managed to get a serial port working, but when i chose to "load
system code", i believe i was asked to specify the location of just a
*kernel*, not a full flashable image. so, at this point, i do have a
working console port if that helps.

i'm at the point where i'm quite willing to pay someone to provide a
solution for this.

  another related post coming shortly...
