i really hate to sound like a broken record, but as a followup to my
post about the d-link dir-810L, what i'm really after is some
router/dev board for which i can build and flash openwrt that has the
following properties:

  * mediatek MT7620A processor
  * mediatek MT7610E (MT7610EN?) separate 5G radio chip
  * at least one USB port
  * ideally (in my dreams), a PCIe slot for, say, broadband modem
  * serial/console port

i recently grabbed that d-link dir-810l because it had the right basic
parts, there was an openwrt build for it, there was a wiki page for
it:

  http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/d-link/dir-810l

and there was compelling evidence that at least *someone* had built
and flashed for that router:

  https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=46825

note the original poster, pretty clearly suggesting he(?) did it:

"Is it dir-810L supported? It's based on MT7620A SOC. I have built the
firmware openwrt-ramips-mt7620a-dir-810l-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin from
Trunk, but found that wifi is NOT working... Any help? Any
information. Thanks!!"

  to be clear, i don't care about working wifi just yet -- either the
onboard 2.4G or the external 5G. all i want is a basic, flashable and
bootable system, and i'll take it from there. so if not the dir-810L,
can anyone suggest a reasonably available system that matches my
needs? i'm quite willing to make a donation to the openwrt project if
that inspires anyone. :-)

  at this point, suggestions more than welcome.
