I have been running Openwrt on my Microtik RB2011 for a year or so.
It's been fine (with the patch to make the Gigabit ports work) but
just recently has stopped working so well, acting as if it's
overloaded.

It's not overloaded by anything I'm doing, there's only two ethernet
ports in use and a couple of WiFi clients.

However I'm getting packet loss on the WiFi etc. Another symptom is
that ssh access never completes. It prompts for a password and then
just hangs for ever. I can access only by using the serial port.

Using top shows that netifd is using around 30% of the CPU all the
time, is this normal?

I have tried rebooting the Mikrotik but nothing changed.

Any ideas what might have happened?

uname -a gives:-

    Linux OpenWrt 3.10.49 #7 Thu Jan 1 13:24:13 GMT 2015 mips GNU/Linux
