Don't know if this is works for you, but I do this: root@openWrt:~# find /sys/|grep phy|grep wlan /sys/devices/pci0000:01/0000:01:00.0/0000:02:00.0/net/wlan0/phys_port_name /sys/devices/pci0000:01/0000:01:00.0/0000:02:00.0/net/wlan0/phys_switch_id /sys/devices/pci0000:01/0000:01:00.0/0000:02:00.0/net/wlan0/phy80211 /sys/devices/pci0000:01/0000:01:00.0/0000:02:00.0/net/wlan0/phys_port_id /sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/netdev:wlan0 ....
You'll get a lot of output, but what you want is probably somewhere there, i was lucky enough to get it at the top :) I use this method to figure out other hardware stuff, like which USB host did i connect that webcam to, and which disk controller has that drive and so on. The answer is usually always somewhere in /sys, my problem is mostly how to grep properly to avoid spamming the screen too much. For some machines this doesn't work for some reason, like some older router I had with stripped down OEM firmware. -- Best Regards, Audun Gangsto On 26 July 2016 at 17:04, Roberto Riggio <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > the automatically generated wireless config contains for each wifi card > a path pointing to the actual device, e.g.: > > config wifi-device radio0 > option type mac80211 > option channel 36 > option hwmode 11g > option path 'pci0000:00/0000:00:07.0/0000:04:00.0' > > Is there a way to know from this info which phyX corresponds to this > device? > > -- > -------------------------------------------------------- > Roberto Riggio, Ph.D. > CREATE-NET > Future Networks (FuN) > Senior Researcher > Via alla Cascata 56/D - 38123 Povo Trento (Italy) > e-mail: [email protected] > Tel: (+39) 0461 312481 > Fax: (+39) 0461 421157 > http://www.create-net.org/~rriggio/ > -------------------------------------------------------- > > The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to > which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged > material.
