Hi Sergei, you are perfectly right that we are way behind schedule for a stable release and that a clear roadmap will benefit the project.
I agree with Alex that it seems unrealistic to have a real 1.0 in June, given the workload we are still facing and the current developer base. I believe Michael is on holiday this month and I'd really like to hear his feedback on this, too. I am a bit reluctant when it comes to branching the code base now, I would rather do this once we have released a 1.0.xxx version. I'd like to propose the following approach: 1. Focus on a beta (e. g. 0.9.xxx-beta1) release as quickly as possible Definition of this release should be a technology preview based on the current code base. Requirements: - at least rudimentary admin and user documentation (enable user base to set up the system properly) - no show stopper bugs - open bugs closed: [ 1699896 ] Non-correct logout [ 1664189 ] Throw away (or fix) CLI - comment: throw away for the time being [ 1628868 ] Fix IE certificate installation page 2. Prepare 1.0 release candidates (e. g. 1.0.xxx-rc1) Mandatory requirements: - extensive documentation - stable SQL schema - stable XML configuration layout - no open bugs with priority > 3 - major feature requests implemented: [ 1669932 ] Bulk request support [ 1630657 ] Super search for web interface [ 1600234 ] Do not use default passwords in default installation [ 1630650 ] A nicer system error page [ 1597757 ] Replace SQL wildcards with '*' wildcard in workflow search [ 1637681 ] Use our own configuration files for workflow Objectives: Get user feedback on the stable release. Publishing release candidates should continue until the major flaws are all fixed. 3. Publish 1.0 release (1.0.xxx) Once we are confident that the quality level of a release candidate is sufficient we should release a 1.0.xxx.
