Hi all,

Martin, Martin and myself just brainstormed a bit about a new
structure for the menus on the web interface, as they are getting
quite cluttered and are IMHO not very intuitive.
Here is what we've come up with:

Tasks / Home[1]

Request
  Certificate Signing Request
  Smartcard personalization
  Certificate Revocation Request
  Bulk certificate request
  [CRL issuance]

Download
  My certificates
  CA certificates
  Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs)
  Policy Documents

[Approval]
  Pending CSRs
  Pending CRRs

Search
  Search certificates
  Search workflows

Logout[2]

[1]: Tasks/Home should show the most important information for the user.
For a "normal" user, it is supposed to be called "Home", for a registration
officer or CA operator, it is supposed to be called "Tasks".
The user is shown the list of workflows created by him here (just like
on the index page after login at the moment).
A registration officer will be shown the last n pending CSRs and CRRs
with the option to page.
The CA Operator will be shown the key status here.

[2]: We've also been thinking about replacing the logout menu entry with
a symbol to be put in the top area, but we have not yet come up with a
universal one (an exit door? a power symbol?) ...

The menus/entries in square brackets are only shown to registration officers
or CA Operators (in the CRL issuance case).

The language menu should be replaced by flags in the top area.
The CA chains can (and should) be visualized more clearly in the CA
certificates list (for example by showing them from top to bottom in the
table with links to the certificate download page).

The OpenXPKI logo should IMHO point to the application root instead of
http://www.openxpki.org.

I believe this should clear up our interface quite a bit - let me know
what you think about it ...

Best regards,
  Alex
