Hi,

1. SF has much modified shell service, and now I am not
able to automate procedure of
updates for "lastmidnight" packages, which used to go via
sf.net web zone. Because of this, at the
moment mirrors www1 and www5 are out of date in
this "lastmidnight" sector.

If you do not feel like synchronizing with www7,
what do you think if I just hard-code a link to www7
in this "lastmidnight" sector instead of links
to your mirrors?
(Note that we are already using this approach with
WebSVN link from page:

http://www.openxpki.org/resources/index.html )

If so, then we do not need any
synchronization about this "lastmidnight" any more.

2. Please note, that a few minutes ago I have updated
"lastmidnight" sector of our SF web zone by hand (by entering my
personal password).
That is why mentioned mirrors may become synchronized
during the forthcoming night. Do not be mislead by this.
I will not do this by hand any more.

Below attached is extract from my old message of 22.10.2007.

All the best, Sergei

=====================================

I have modified a script

www.openxpki.org/trunk/fetch.sh

so that is fetches lastmidnight staff directly
from www7 where it is generated instead of from SF.
This seems to build up the reliability of the
whole our www system.

All mirrors are advised to use this new version.

Let me also note, that in case of any
technical problems or notable bugfixes,
lastmidnight generation is refreshed during the day.
So it could be an idea that mirrors ask for
lastmidnight updates several times a day.
Please take into account, that traffic is very low,
and "no updates -- no traffic" policy is observed
with this script.

All the best, Sergei
