Hi, Does anybody know how to verify signature of person X, with the help of the openssl package, provided:
(1) I have a text, which was signed by X, (2) I have a signature of X for this text, (3) I have a cert of X, (4) I do _not_ have a private key of X. Years ago there was a package openca-sv for similar purpose. Anything more easy today? Alternatively, do you know means to prepare PKCS#7 container from items (1-3) above? This container sure can be fed to openssl.
