Hi, Another idea, which once was probed here.
A dedicated sort of CMS. A special "traslator" mode of web interface could be turned on for mastering the translation of the web interface. You log in to the oxi server with your role as "translator". You begin with seeing untranslated i18n tags on screen. (We need to make precautions that full tags are really visible. As an alternative, only a portion of a tag is visible, but full tag is shown as a tulip when mouse pointer is placed above it.) With Ctrl-click you select a tag and translate it in this same field to your language. Then this tag is replaced by your translation and result is shown immediately. Restart of Apache may be needed. If not satisfied, you repeat editing of your translation. As an option, you begin with seeing web-interface which is already translated to some foreign language. With Ctrl-click you select a foreign phrase and translate it in this same field to your language. Then this tag is replaced by your translation and result is shown immediately. If not satisfied, you repeat editing of your translation. Tools for realization: perl+mason on server side, javascript on client side. CMS like this could essentially ease translating the web interface, enhance its linguistic quality, and radically improve web design as seen in a particular language. What do you think?
