VERSION.pm is autogenerated once you run Makefile.PL. Please make sure
that vergen (which is at tools/vergen) is available in your path.

That's normal, I guess we should take care about this message. These
files only exist once you have run make test.

That sounds good to me. Unfortunately, we have some failing tests
at the moment, but the ones you are seeing are the same I get here,
so your installation seems fine.
Feel free to get back to me (or even better, the openxpki-users
mailinglist) if you encounter any more problems.
