Dear OpenXPKI Users,

we are happy to anmounce the availability of our new release v1.18.1 which is available now for Debian (Jessie) and Ubuntu (Trusty) on our packages servers.

Most noteable changes are the new logging subsystem. We replaced the hardcoded module/line number injection with a configurable log4perl pattern and provide relevant session data using the "Data Context" feature of log4perl. We also changed the the timestamp format for the audit and application log to epoch - so you might need to adjust your tables/scripts when updating!

We also introduced a new database backed session handling to provide seamless failover when using multiple nodes. The old session handling is still in place and the default but due to internal rework existing sessions will not survive the update/restart of the server.

Please see http://openxpki.readthedocs.io/en/latest/upgrading.html for more detailed notes on upgrading.

Your feedback is welcome, but dont forget to enjoy the summertime ;)

Oliver - for the entire OpenXPKI team
