The problem with the database port came in after we recreated the
packages for the security issue and slurped in the MariaDB2 driver which
unfortunately has some issues, as you already recognized this is fixed
in the repo.
The part on the session driver information is already in the quickstart:

- so you just did not read up to the end :)
Docs are created from the doc/ subfolder in the code repo, so any
improvments can be made here by making a PR on github. We know this is
not in the desired state and we are working on a new website with more
consistent docs already but as usual in OSS projects we need to do this
in the "time left" so its still ongoing :(
