well - OpenXPKI nodes are (almost) stateless and all you need is a shared database to run a multi-node setup. This is the case already since OpenXPKI 1.x (ok it has improved much but basically its there for a long time). The "Cluster Status" is nothing more than a list of records from this shared database which is created by each node when connecting.
