Hi Patricia,

The issue you are seeing is probably related to how your graphics card is
configured or used. You can see these issues if you use ResInsight inside a VM.
As a general advice, always run ResInsight directly on the native OS to ensure
maximum performance. Also, try to update the drivers for your graphics card.

If you still have this issue, you can try the following workaround. NB! This
will slow down the performance of ResInsight, but the crash might be resolved.

1. Make sure no instance of ResInsight is running
2. Inside the folder where resinsight.exe is located, rename opengl32sw.dll to
opengl32.dll
(This procedure will use the source code in this DLL instead of the graphics
card to produce the 3D graphics. If you want to use the graphics card, rename
opengl32.dll to something else)

Then, try to launch resinsight and load your simulations. Good luck!

Regards
Magne

Subject: Re: [Opm] Help - ResInsight Error for Grid Results

Hello all,

As mentioned before, I installed ResInsight-2019.08.2_oct-4.00_ win64 in my
laptop. When loading Eclipse results (File/Import/Eclipse Cases) everything
went fine till the end of the upload. Immediately after that I received an
error message:

ERROR: OGL(GL_INVALID_OPERATION):

                -func: bool__cdecl cvf::
OpenGLContentGroup::initializeGLEW(class cvf::OpenGLContext *)

                -file: cvfOpenGLContextGroup.cpp (248)

Has anyone received this error message before? Could you share the solution?

Thanks so much.

PC

Thanks so much to Atgeirr Rasmussen. He helped me have OPM running in my laptop.
