Iben,

Welcome back to hear from you after long.

OPEN-O
In defense of OPEN-O team they wanted the approval of their OPNE-O TSC prior to
committing on use cases they plan to validate the OPNFV platform.
After first two presentations with the feedback from OPNV they realized OPNFV
community wants some alignment between OPNFV Projects and Upstream on Standards
as well APIs which is evolving plus the Use case approach requires that they be
specified as part of Projects to be able to drive the acceptance.

OPNFV
The first two presentations in Weekly Technical meeting in June, donned on the
OPNFV Community to address its way to handle this through MANO WorkGroup and I
have initiated the efforts and if you and Sridhar Ramaswamy of Tacker team want
to join the OPNFV MANO WG Please follow up on the Poll invite for meetings.

Four O's OpenStack are universal including OPNFV (Open Source, Open Design,
Open Meetings and Open Community)
Yes these discussions are open and due to intermediate Berlin OPNFV summit we
had discussions on MANO WG with Open Baton, JuJu and Tacker.
As details for MANO WG are still in incubation stage we waited to see what
OPEN-O brings to table and how we can go about a minimum common agreed approach
to the OPNFV moving above VIM in MANO Stack.

We need your constructive support and please feel free to join any meetings
like you did in Brahmaputra release.

Thanks
Prakash

Iben,

No, it was open for discussion in June. I think they keep on changing the name,
which caused the confusion. That’s why I always have a (wrong) impression that
this “Opera” is a NEW project. But actually they wanted to continue it as the
prior one in June.

Anyway, look at Weekly Technical Discussion page, find the agenda and minutes
in June – the one related to MANO is the prior one.

Thanks
Bin

When are the opera meetings taking place? Are the "open" to anyone?

Yingjun and Prakash,

I see. So it is the continuation of your prior project proposal that you still
want to pursue. Sorry that I misunderstood that you wanted to discuss a new
project. Now I understand that you want to continue to discuss the prior one.

Sure, I am happy to put it on agenda of technical community discussion on 7/28.

Meanwhile, if you wish, you can still ask TSC to review it on next Tuesday 7/26
because it is allowed by process. This way, you may expedite the approval
process. So it is your call.

Thank you
Bin

I already updated OPNFV wiki page with latest slides. Emailed updated slides to
OPNFV TSC board members individually asking for their comments. I guess I am
ready to present on 7/28. Could you please help to announcing OPNFV Open-O
Integration project?

Here is the link.

https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/PROJ/OPNFV-OPEN-O

The link to OPNFV-MANO at this page
https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/PROJ/Project+Proposals is broken. I guess we
need to rename it as OPNFV Open-O, and link it to project proposal page.

Thanks
Yingjun

The following email thread is from Bin Hu’s replay to my email yesterday. We
don’t have to create new project proposal, because we already have wiki page
for the updated project proposal (Opera) . I will upload latest slides as PDF.

On his third item, announce new project to TSC and tech-discussion mailing
list, I guess we need re-announce the project as new one?

Please advise.

Thanks
Yingjun

Yingjun,

Thank you for letting me know.

When it is ready, I suggest that:

- Create a wiki page for this new project proposal

- Upload the presentation to the wiki page

- Announce the new project proposal to tsc and tech-discuss mailing
list

- In your announcement, you can include the link to the project wiki
and the presentation.

The clock starts once it is announced publicly. And we can take it next
Thursday 7/28, and bring it to TSC in 2 weeks after public announcement.

Thank you
Bin

Subject: About OPNFV Open-O integration project proposal

Hi, Bin

The OPNFV Open-O integration project proposal review within Open-O is almost
done. But it is not ready this week to present.

Before presenting at OPNFV TSC, I’d like to share the presentation slides to
hear your comments. Any comment is appreciated.

Basically following summarize what has been done to slides based on OPNFV TSC
meeting and Open-O TSC.

1. Narrow the project scope to Open-O integration requirement only

2. Remove dependent projects and add Cross-Project coordination with
OPNFV MANO WG

3. Remove proposed committers and contributors, only keep accepted ones.

4. Add vCPE use case based interfaces diagram as initial requirement.

5. Re-scope Open-O components in the integration

I will be ready to present next week.

Best regards
Yingjun
