The readme for the OpenStack-Helm github
project<https://github.com/att-comdev/openstack-helm> describes it as
“Openstack-Helm is a fully self-contained Helm-based OpenStack deployment on
Kubernetes. It will provide baremetal provisioning, persistent storage,
full-stack resiliency, full-stack scalability, performance monitoring and
tracing, and an optional development pipeline (using Jenkins). This project,
along with the tools used within are community-based and open sourced.”

The intent of this, like the code we open-sourced on github as our seed to the
OPNFV VES project (https://github.com/att/evel-library,
https://github.com/att/evel-test-collector) is to start on tackling some of the
key pain points we have. VES is focused on NFVI/application (VNF) telemetry
primarily, while Helm is focused on the scale/resiliency of the cloud
controller.
Thanks,
Bryan Sullivan | AT&T

Bryan: i looked at the ATT com dev link - so exactly what is this - a list of
issues that AT&T has on different open source activities? And then it gets
upstreamed to the different projects?

Also, Bryan, I found out why the Github authentication failed. Someone removed
the authorization for the app. I will check with LF folks to see if it was
intentional or not.

Bryan: the only way i see us making progress is to take each item one at a
time. I know it is slow - but I don't see the group being able to handle
multiple EUG 'use' cases at the same time unless we have more participants. So
once we do resiliency, then we can tackle telemetry

Hi all,

As input to the call tomorrow I added some more comments to the table at
https://wiki.opnfv.org/display/EUAG/Pain+Points, in the comments column. There
are a number of the pain points, particularly in the area of telemetry and
related purposes (performance, fault, placement, logging/troubleshooting,
billing) that can be enabled by the VES/Barometer projects. We can take action
in these projects to further develop the VES telemetry data model and Barometer
telemetry collection system to support these use cases.

In other cases we should be able to consolidate some of the pain points and map
them to other projects underway (some of them may not be as active as others
though).

Thanks,
Bryan Sullivan | AT&T
