Hi Wenjing,
I’d like to have tools added as the first topic on the agenda. Before you tell us about workflow. / Chris From: Wenjing Chu <wenjing....@huawei.com> Date: Friday, 31 March 2017 at 05:38 To: Wenjing Chu <wenjing....@huawei.com>, Christopher Price <chrispric...@gmail.com>, TECH-DISCUSS OPNFV <opnfv-tech-discuss@lists.opnfv.org> Subject: RE: [dovetail] This weeks meeting Forgot the repo directory topic. They provide program requirements. Let’s discuss it on Friday. Whom in the C&C committee is working on this as of today? I don’t really understand a number of your answers, maybe we can clarify those tomorrow as well. / Chris From: Wenjing Chu <wenjing....@huawei.com> Date: Thursday, 30 March 2017 at 20:14 To: Christopher Price <chrispric...@gmail.com>, TECH-DISCUSS OPNFV <opnfv-tech-discuss@lists.opnfv.org> Subject: RE: [dovetail] This weeks meeting Hi Chris Most of these topics were raised to the C&C committee and LF staff in the last call. The action/ask is for C&C and LF to evaluate and ask Board for resources if needed next week. Dovetail may still be tasked to own some of the work but I think C&C is the ultimate owner on its requirement and LF the host. Let me walk us through each of questions you raised inline. Please do let me know if I missed anything. We will certainly go over this next week in the TSC/Board F2F. Thanks. I can see some activities occurring however I cannot see any communication at all around why and what is being done, thus I would like to raise the topics for the project team to discuss. If someone is looking into these topics then let’s have them walk us though their thinking, we should begin to make some plans around how to address: · The basic workflows we will be supporting in the tools, I would expect us to start with. o Create account o Launch the test cases o View results o Submit results - [Wenjing] The CVP workflow – I presented the high level workflow involving tool client, server, DB requirements to C&C and asked C&C and LF to work together to give us feedback as what we in Dovetail need to deliver. I believe the ultimate owner is C&C who uses these tools to administer the program. I think that process is just starting – hopefully it will accelerate after today’s Danube release and next week’s Board meeting. This info was also presented to TSC last Tuesday. · The CVP DB o Information and schema’s, business logic requirements, security & privileges o Where will it be? o How we will host it? o How it will be accessed? - [Wenjing] What test results are accessible in the DB was also discussed with examples shown in the same C&C meeting. We do have an outstanding question of how viewers (tester or reviewer or other users of the system) can see not just the test case name and result, but some explanation of what it is doing – i.e. a short description. At this time, that info isn’t in DB from what I can tell, but will be on a separate document. I am thinking that we can create a JIRA ticket to link these two in web UI for easy referencing. This may alternatively be the DB too, but the doc is always going to have more info. The host of DB is the same question as the first bullet above. · Target test tools to be included in Danube CVP - [Wenjing] Target test tools – I’m not sure what you are referring to. Can you clarify? · Any additional requirements on FuncTest o What is required to report to the DB o Are there additional security concerns/needs - [Wenjing] Additional requirements to Functest: there is one general requirement wrt to the short description of the test cases (see the second point above). We may use cross reference with an online document for that, but details need to be worked out. Another area of potential requirements can come from the results of test case reviews that we are about to get going. If we take an existing test case and the review found that some fixes/enhancements are needed to meet test case criteria, we may need to request changes. These JIRA tickets have not been raised yet. I don’t believe we have more security concerns. If I am mistaken, please raise it again. · Frontend DB support for the use cases - [Wenjing] Do you mean the web UI? That falls to the same topic in the first bullet. Dovetail tool also allows a CLI command to report result. Let me know if I miss anything. Thanks. Wenjing I list these topics as I don’t see where we are discussing them or making decisions on them. They would seem to be important for us to progress with for Danube. / Chris
