Title: Message

Rules of Use for the OPRA E-Connection - Ohio's park and recreation listserve where you can electronically exchange information, share challenges and success stories with almost 900 of OPRA's members who have access to email....and a current email address on file with OPRA.  This tool will save you hours of research, connect you with others within the state and provide you with education and the latest developments in the industry. Please take time to review the information below explaining how OPRA's E-Connection will function, communications appropriate for the listserve, some general rules for listserve etiquette and how to remove your name if you do not wish to participate in this valuable offering.   We hope you'll enjoy the opportunity to talk with your peers throughout the state via this electronic media.  Remember to visit OPRA’s website, www.opraonline.org often for helpful information and updates.

The official email address of the listserve is: [EMAIL PROTECTED].  Use this address to post new messages or reply to messages from others on the list.  When replying to a message, please use the 'reply' (NOT 'reply to all') function in your email program - this will put an RE: in front of the existing subject line and will help keep related messages organized.  It's pretty simple!  Just use the address above to post messages as you would with any other e-mail you create/receive.  Here are a couple of suggestions about interacting with the list:

1.   Please make subject lines as descriptive as possible
2.   Don't copy the entire thread in replies, if not necessary for clarity
3.   Please don’t attach files to your postings.  If you would like to make a file available to others on the list, please offer to send it directly to interested parties via personal email instead.

Remember, once you send a message it will be available for all of OPRA's members to read!  Please be sure you want everything in your message to be available to everyone else on the list before clicking on 'Send'.  Obviously, inappropriate content such as profanities, personal attacks, job postings, resumes, sales pitches, etc. will not be permitted on the listserve.  The listserve is meant to be a professional, open forum between all members.  OPRA reserves the right to remove any user that posts inappropriate content.  In short, use common sense in your communications just as you would if talking to a group of people in person.

Please have computer virus protection software installed, active and properly updated on your computer before posting or replying to messages.  Passing a virus along to everyone else on the listserve doesn't make a good impression.  By being prudent and scanning all incoming/outgoing messages, we can greatly reduce the transmission of viruses and the associated problems they cause.

We truly feel this will be an extremely valuable tool for all our members.  For this reason, all members with an e-mail address on file at OPRA are automatically subscribed to the listserve (if your address changes, please notify us!).  However, if for some reason you would like to be removed from the listserve, send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with 'unsubscribe' in the subject line.  Be sure you send the message from the e-mail account that is subscribed to the listserv.

That's about it!  If you have any questions or suggestions about the listserve, please send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED].  We will reply as quickly as possible.

We look forward to seeing the listserve grow in popularity and become an important tool for all our members.  Happy posting!
