In fact this is a limitation of the underlying OSGi container (equinox?
felix?) so you can try to upgrade this. I even patched an rater old
equinox 3.7 to support Java 1.8 by simply adding the profiles file from
a newer release.

Hey!
When using Pax Exam version 4.5.0 (but it also happens on 4.9.2) and
deploying a feature which contains a bundle with
"/Bundle-RequiredExecutionEnvironment: JavaSE-1.8/" manifest entry, I
receive an error [1].
Everything works perfectly when I remove this line from the bundle. Of
course I'm running JDK8 [2].
I also analyzed debug and trace logs and bundle is resolved correctly.
But then the errors happens. Could you please advice me how can I get
this working?
Thanks
Sebastian
