And if you are looking for something that is more like a minimal runtime to run your OSGi - Services. I would suggest to switch over to the Apache Karaf project. Most likely the minimal version is what you're looking for. It's flexible, you can decide which framework to use, it's stable and it includes already everything to expand it and use it. For example, the logging is already handled by included Pax Logging.
For me, this would be my starting point to get OSGi running smoothly. Without wanting to take a look at how to run a framework. just my 2 cents, Achim Am Di., 7.
