I was asked for a status update email and/or slide. Here is an email. 1. pcaplinktypes has gone to the IESG, and received review. The document status has been queried and confirmed as Informational. The presences of advice to Designated Expert given FCFS was queried and debated. And there is a consensus call to change FCFS->Expert Review. Please read and decide if you have technical objections to Joe's CC.
2. the pcap will go forward as Historic. It went through WGLC in July. It has some comments that have not yet been fully addressed (confirmed to be addressed). The document shepherd write up is underway. 3. the pcapng *Now Generic* document is awaiting WGLC. It will go as Informational. It could use more review, and probably has a few goofs still present. There have been hallway requests to add new blocks, and I have encouraged them to just write a simple I-D, using the IANA Considerations for block numbers. There is an issue with mixes of big-endian/little-endian blocks, particularly around being able to seek backwards in the file.
