Yes. This would work great! Can I suggest the following string for the
module:
id-mod-plm-2025 (TBD0)
That would make the registrations:
id-mod-plm-2025 (86) in https://www.iana.org/assignments/smi-
numbers/smi-numbers.xhtml#security-smime-0
and
id-ct-prefixlenCSVwithCRLF (57) in
https://www.iana.org/assignments/smi-numbers/smi-
numbers.xhtml#security-smime-1

Hi Sean,
Would this proposed update from Russ be OK if they were to implement
it? This is still on the telechat agenda for tomorrow, if you would
be able to let us know today.
Thank you!

I suggest an Appendix with this ASN.1 Module:
~~~
pkcs(1) pkcs9(9) smime(16) mod(0) TBD0 }
DEFINITIONS IMPLICIT TAGS ::=
BEGIN
-- EXPORTS ALL --
IMPORTS
CONTENT-TYPE
FROM CryptographicMessageSyntax-2010 -- in [RFC6268]
{ iso(1) member-body(2) us(840) rsadsi(113549) pkcs(1)
pkcs-9(9) smime(16) modules(0) id-mod-cms-2009(58) } ;
ContentSet CONTENT-TYPE ::= { ct-prefixlenCSVwithCRLF, ... }
ct-prefixlenCSVwithCRLF CONTENT-TYPE ::=
{ TYPE OCTET STRING IDENTIFIED BY id-ct-prefixlenCSVwithCRLF }
id-ct-prefixlenCSVwithCRLF OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::=
{ iso(1) member-body(2) us(840) rsadsi(113549) pkcs(1)
pkcs-9(9) smime(16) ct(1) TBD1 }
END
~~~
We will also need IANA to assign an OID for the module. This is a
minor update to the IANA considerations section.

Did a quick look at this and have a questions about why there’s no
ASN.1 module that formally defines the content type? The knock on
effects for adding a module that come to mind would be:
- another section for the ASN.1 module
- another IANA request for SMIME ASN.1 Module Arc
- normative refs to X.680, X.690, & RFC 5911 (imports CONTENT-
TYPE)
