It means that when the device is scanned, the snmp agent on the box is returning an error message when looking for ifAlias on that device. On my test systems, SNMPv1 and v2c are not returning an error at this point.
I've attached an updated check_snmp_linkstatus which conveniently ignores checking for that piece of information. Can you try it please?
