Thanks for that, but even after navigating to the \usr\local\nagios\bin
directory and switching to the nagios user I still get:

'bash: opsview_api: command not found'  when I type opsview_api -f
opsview.xml (opsview.xml is my config file)

ls -l does however show -r-xr-x--- 1 nagios nagios 3009  29-05-14 02: 20
opsview_api

I am a complete newbie to Linux so thanks for the help.
