So will the intention be to "beta" or "alpha" test stuff in the community edition a'la Fedora?
Not exactly. New functionality introduced into Community will be tested and ready to use, imagine it as a v1.0 rather than an beta release. The 'Community' cycle of new functionality involves its use in a much wider set of environments than we can achieve in testing. It will also allow people to feed back ideas on how it can be improved. By the time this functionality is introduced into Opsview Enterprise it will have been road tested by a wide range of users and is likely to include fixes, tweaks and improvements as a result.
