Just to be fair, I've seen that happen in my environment, and it was not
related to ssh tunels.
We had an outage and when the boxes came back some of them would be shown as
down with all services ok.
I forced a host check to make the change. As far as I can remember they were
boxes monitored by our slaves, and at that time I didn't think about
checking the web interface on the slave.
