You have some pretty horrendous check latency from that screen shot.

Are you using a NMIS at all, or do you have SNMP checked against some hosts but SNMP isn't responding or anything like that?  Are you using any of your own checks?  What processes are running as nagios - i.e. from top are you seeing any check scripts running for consistently long periods of time?  The default chck timeouts should be preventing a lot of check overruns but there is something strange going on.
