Make sure you have a least one service check other than the host check, in the past that's the only way I can get the host to show.

I have added a few additional hosts other than "opsview" with the "Host Check Command" ping set. These additional hosts show in "Network Map" tab but not in "Host Detail" tab. If I add the "Network Base" host template to the new hosts they will then appear under the "Host Detail" tab. What is causing this issue? Additionally, I don't seem to be able to expand or select the list of monitored service checks on any host including opsview in the "host> monitors" tab (where there was a "+/-" symbol in version 3.1 there is now the word "expand" which is fully inactive). This is on both hosts and on host templates. Thanks for your advice
